As some of you know, I’ve taken a position with a company that does IT
contract work for the department of Veteran Affairs. This position is in
Frederick Maryland and is requiring me to relocate to the East Coast. I’ve
been working onsite, out of a hotel, for the last two months and will be
permanently relocating here on Dec. 15th.
The SLC house is under contract. Yippee Skippy! We’ve had to work through
a couple of “deferred maintenance” issues, including an episode with newly
poured concrete and the UPS guy. But we’re back on track and will be
driving to Maryland after loading the truck on 12/15.
Frederick is a lot of fun. I was excited to come for revolutionary war
history, but found most of the sites here are Civil War-ish. Frederick is
about 50 minutes from “The District” and within 20 minutes of three other
states (Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania).
In the short time I’ve been here I’ve hiked part of the Appalachian Trail,
visited DC, toured Gettysburg, and checked out different areas to live.
Jody and I even got to see a performance by Gloria and Jon in Falls Church.
The trail picture is of the Potomac from the Appalachian Trail near Harper’s
Ferry. The video is of a performance by Gloria and Jon.
